What percentage of developers switched careers after the 1999 crash?
I switched from being a physicist to being a software developer after the crash.
Software still looked like a much better business where I would actually be wanted and it was clear at the time that the fundamentals were good it was just the finance that was temporarily screwed up.
I went back to school, finished my degree, got my masters in mathematics, and then went back to being a (much better paid) developer working on much more interesting things.
