Is this a safe place to share?

Hi, I have a project/idea for a mobile app and I'd like some random feedback, but not so random: from people who have a sensibility to imagine the vision of a product, that can see if it has some sort of potential. In fact I wanted to share a pitch deck on Reddit but I'm afraid someone could copy it. Of course a project shouldn't be so easy to copy but that thought is right for the final app. For a UX/UI designer it shouldn't take a lot to build an MVP or just a mock up with Figma. I'm just a regular person that had an idea which I believe is a bit of a game-changer. Is this a safe place to share a project?

Sorry if I sound a bit arrogant or stupid but I really care about this idea, it's like a child, you know? Feel free to give any advice or whatsoever.

As a public post, it'll even show up on a Google search result. And HN doesn't allow you to delete old posts without a polite email to the admins with a good reason. And it'll still probably end up on the Internet Archive.

Anyone who replies, perhaps suggesting a more private discussion, could be, well, anyone. The odds that someone who's reputable in a way you can verify easily taking a keen enough interest to bother with all that are probably relatively low. So it's no different from throwing it out on Reddit, except the audience is a bit narrower and smaller.

What are the odds that someone is trolling HN looking to engage in identity fraud or a con scheme to get their hands on your prototype so they could then do a lot of hard work to implement it? I can't really weigh that! It's a lot of work for about as much certainty as you have that it'll pay off. On the other hand, it's a crime of opportunity that does align with the skillset...

Is the risk that someone else would execute on the idea before you?

You could build a python scraper that aggregates all the posts like this already on reddit, feed it to an ai, and then you can generate infinite pitch decks- then get a UX/UI designer it shouldn't take a lot to build an MVP or just a mock up with Figma.

No I don’t think so. If it’s that important to you I’d be selective with how you share it. But that’s just me. I’m a naturally guarded person.
