Linux laptops with good battery life

Currently my daily driver is the Microsoft Surface Go Laptop 2, running Fedora. Fedora has surprisingly been pretty much pain free in regards to compatibility issues, and within an hour of installation I was happily chugging along without much thought to driver support. I know that M$ also sells the Surface Laptop line, which has more power, but I really really really like having a compact laptop, and I have to say the keyboard is really nice :)

I've had it for about a year now, and from day 1 the battery life has been pretty good, albeit plugging it in once or twice for 10ish minutes. It definitely lasts all day (mobile app development workflow) and although I carry my power cord around it's not usually the first thing on my mind. Definitely should last you at least 8 hours.

As a whole, the laptop has a nice almost Apple-like premium feel, and the display is no exception. It also includes a full USB port, so you don't need to carry a USB-C adapter everywhere you go, something that has saved my sanity on multiple occasions. Performance is good with the i5, and generally I haven't found anything to complain about.

Its about 8 years old, but a t460 with the beefier removable battery will easily hit 8 hours doing office work and browsing. You can squeak 12 out of it if you turn turbo boost off on the CPU.
