Confluence Alternative(s) Supporting Markdown?

A SaaS is fine if they integrate with Okta SSO, otherwise something open source that we can self host would be the backup. But this is definitely a `Build < Buy` situation I'm in.

Luckily outside of engineering they don't use our confluence. So the target audience is technical.

Any advice here or questions are welcomed. Thank you.

IMO wikis are anti-pattern.

They always getting out of sync and eventually abandoned.

Just store markdown files under the /docs/ folder in the git repo.

Google Docs support markdown, though significantly worse UX than Confluence (cloud)

What is your pain point with Confluence?

notion.so, also has integrated support for mermaid diagrams, decent syntax highlighting etc.
