What are your thoughts on crypto in 2022?

My feeling is that crypto is done and dusted.

Too many people got burnt during the last cycle peak and I think its reputation has been completely destroyed. Any semblance of technological innovation was dwarfed by the scams and damage it did to everyday people.

Its now a certified “Decentralized” casino, and no amount of hype will change that

I wish people would stop talking about Crypto's potential and own up to them trying to just get rich quick. If you think Crypto will actually be something useful, then build something useful and people will go and use it, if no one is using it, it was never useful. Same goes to the metaverse I suppose.

There is little or no advantage (and lots of disadvantages) to using crypto as an actual *legal* currency.

It's primary utility is the same as it has always been --- speculation. Current price levels tend to suggest the supply of new/easy marks has played out.

Was always a bit skeptical about crypto, and as such never made any meaningful investments in it. This past year seems to have validated all that skepticism, so as a regular Joe - I don't see the benefit of having any in my portfolio anytime soon.
