Why can't I comment on this?

There is a post "Svix, the Enterprise Ready Webhook Service (YC W21) Is Hiring (Remote) (svix.com)" which doesn't have a comment link on it. Why can't I comment on it?

It's a job post by a YC company. From: https://news.ycombinator.com/newsfaq.html

> Another kind of job ad is reserved for YC-funded startups. These appear on the front page, but are not stories: they have no vote arrows, points, or comments. They begin part-way down and fall steadily. Only one is on the front page at a time. The rest are listed at jobs.

The mods disabled the comments in that kind of post because each time a business post a job position, it would get essentially the same comments. But when a YC company post a new product or other big events (or someone else post a complain against a YC company) then the discussion is enable, because it's expected to get a different discussion each time.

Those are posts where we must get on bended knee and marvel in wonder.

Because it's a paid advertisement.
