Reliable ways to remove Monterey's orange recording indicator dot?

Several months on from https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=29627382 I still don't have a good way to remove the orange recording indicator dot that Apple – totally ignoring the needs of those who do screen recording – stupidly added in Monterey. Honestly, I wish I had never upgraded.

I record from my second screen, which is I think why UnDot doesn't work for me. Recording Indicator Utility wants me to disable SIP, and I'm reluctant to do that.

Several months later, are there better options? If it helps, I record with ScreenFlow and external (USB) mic and camera.
