Tesla hasn't yet delivered two separate car models that were presented 3 and 5 years ago and took countless preorders.At this point I wouldn't believe Musk anything until I see it in person.

Very much doubt it's real. Maybe the robot is under development, but delivered on Tesla AI Day? Maybe the exterior is ready, and that's what Musk will show. Or maybe he'll walk on stage dressed as Optimus ...

Tesla will deliver enough to help recruitment (likely more aspirational than functional), which was the point of AI day iirc.
