Do you find libraries depressing because they remind you of exams?


After you finished your schooling, have you been avoid libraries for this reason?

Nope. I never spent much time in the library for the purpose of studying for exams. I quite like libraries, I just don't spend much time in them today because I usually acquire books by buying them at physical retail (Barnes & Noble) or online (Amazon, Alibris, Ebay, etc). And if I want somewhere to go sit and study/read/work or whatever, I usually go to Barnes & Noble or a local coffee shop.

Interestingly enough, the main reason I go to the Town of Chapel Hill library these days is for their periodic used book sale events.

That said, I do sometimes pay for a "non student" library card for the UNC Chapel Hill library, just in case I need a book they might have, that I don't necessarily want to buy.

Not at all. I mostly avoid libraries because I can get most of what I need via PDFs these days. Occasionally, I'll need to find an old copy of a book or something so I search a library. Though, at least where I am at, the technical literature in the libraries is woefully inadequate. Would be great if they offered a way to look up scholarly papers though.

Libraries are a special place!

Albeit the sort neglected by modernity.

My local library has a seed bank. Even libraries innovate!

I never did much studying in libraries though.
