I advise against the use of the Kindle because the biggest drawback of Kindle's small screen-size (9 x 12 cm = 3.5 x 5 inches) is that, while it lends itself well to reading ordinary old fiction stuff, it is not good enough or large enough for reading non-fiction stuff that has diagrams or photos or maps.
What would be better is an eInk high-dpi light-weight device that is large enough for use by tech readers. Probably twice the surface area of the Kindle would be a good compromise. That means the screen dimensions of that device would be roughly 13.5 x 18 cm. (roughly 5.5 x 7 inches)
