What do you do in your free time?

I am trying to find more ways I can spend my free time on besides playing video games and going for drinks and coffees with friends, and occasional sports. What do you do in your free time to relax?

Went to the mall. Bought a remote control car for $5 and a bunch of those crappy army men toys for $0.50.

Built some fortresses with jenga blocks, guarded by the army men, and smashed it with the RC. One day the RC will break, and I'll salvage the innards and power another toy with it.

After destroying the fortress, me and the toddler sat for peace negotiations with a cup of imaginary tea. He agreed for peace in exchange for being allowed to bring two (non-electronic) vehicles into the bath tub. Then we flipped over the table in agreement.

May buy more RCs and jenga blocks tonight, as well as some of those star night lights. If anyone knows where I can get a RC sized spider for $5, I'll be grateful.

Mostly dreading the next workday and postponing hard decisions I need to take. Mañana mañana.

I can recommend 1-3 hour walks combined with podcasts, especially longform podcasts

I go to pottery-classes, shoot people with my camera, and grow food on a small allotment during the summer (we pay €50/year for a small patch of land, 10m x 10m upon which we grow potatoes, onions, garlic, etc).

In addition to that parenting, reading books, spending too much time on the internet, etc, etc.

This year I'm starting to overhaul my house, having moved about a year ago. New furniture to fit the space better than the stuff I had when I moved in, slow renovation of every room, etc.

Building side projects - This is usually my go-to activity when there is an active project. More often than not, I'm searching for a project.

Running - I try to run a few times a week with my long-term goal being a 25 minute 5k

Reading - This is more ad-hoc but I've gradually been reading more recently

Tennis - I sign up for lessons. I used to take them once a week but I'm planning on going multiple times a week for faster improvement

Learning some Gnu utils and programming languages, making my own workshop of my dream, writing pet projects, taking care of my little vegetable farm, enhancing my backyard and my body, doing some hobbies like music playing, finding some other ways to spend free time like, in other words enjoying life without kids because most of that will be not that important when the kids will appear.

Every weekday I try to spend 45 minutes on the treadmill watching videos or doing other workouts.

I'm working on a down to the studs remodel of one of my bathrooms that currently is taking all the time I can give it.

My bedtime routine includes reading, currently working on Player Piano by Kurt Vonnegut.
