Has anyone here recently started blogging on social media?

hi! I want to start to write to social medias like twitter and linkedin for a long time, about the topics I'm interested in. but I have trouble finding "my tone". I don't want to be too technical or too vague.

Maybe I'm overthinking but I'm looking for tips, like how do one approach it? Links for tips or even your social medias posts are appreciated!

I've written about building an audience on LinkedIn, including sharing some of my own data.[1] Summary as follows:

* Figure out a niche. It’s a scary commitment, but it’s the most direct route to becoming known as an expert.

* Set view-count expectations so they roughly match the size of your following. (Obviously, and separately, it helps to increase the size of your network.)

* Switch formats around. Audiences quickly grow tired of templates.

* If you’re going to track social signals, focus more on the who rather than the how many.

* Write long posts with short words.

* Add value every single time.

One idea:

Try starting with an alt on twitter, which gives you some freedom to experiment and make mistakes.

I just recently started (2/3 months maybe) so read my comment with a grain of salt.

I say just try something and go from there. Ever since I started tweeting, I've changed my strategy/tone about 5 times. Some work, some fall flat. Wouldn't have known without trying.

It also depends on your goal. If you just want to share your work without focusing on followers, then who cares what your tone is? Just enjoy the process :)
