Which got me thinking..how do I maintain that low level purring feel all day long? I am not fond of alcohol as a supplement or anything smoky. I like to stay on the right side of the law. I am leery of Pharma interventions.
I don’t think meditation would do it for me. It doenst give me the same kind of buzz. I am very reactive emotionally. Unless I walk around with headphones all day, not sure if chanting, music and the like would work. Maybe a wearable? Like a dose of feel goodness every couple of hours?
I like the idea of a wearable and a brain interface that stimulates the brain buzz feeling. Anything out there?
It takes quite a bit of mullein to make a strong tea. I make mine in our little espresso maker and run just an ounce or two of water through it and then let the mullein sit and steep for about a 1/2 an hour or more, and then I run a full carafe of water through. I put a filter in the bottom of the coffee holder to keep the tiny hairs on the leaves out of the tea. A coffee filter will work fine but you'll have to cut it size.
After the first run of the water the tea will be a weak looking light green, but the 2nd round it will come out looking like a strong Black tea, and it tastes very similar to that. I add a teaspoon of raw honey to it and it's delicious.
You can buy it online but where I live it grows wild and is abundant and easy to find, and it can be found most everywhere in the U.S. and is very easy to ID.
I'd find a way to dose sublingually or something that you are okay with. You want to be able to reliably dose an amount that gets you the mellowness, so edibles are a bad idea (unreliable).
You can vape it. It's not smoky, and the smell only lasts a few seconds. Easy not to go too hard, since results are near-instant.
It won't last too long (especially if you build any tolerance)--a couple hours max, usually.
Combine with music.
I have many things I do to feel good, many of which are mentioned here. The only things that have ever given me a true buzz are alcohol and THC. I have not explored any other chemicals besides caffeine, but I have tried a great many things like sleep patterns, dietary changes, meditation, running, music, etc.
Caffeine is probably next-closest, and working out can give a real "glow" sometimes. I can also get a bit of a euphoric feeling just being present in some situations--family gatherings and concerts come to mind--but not on command.
Tea has some L-Theanine in it which adds to mellowness too. For simplicity, you can do black tea, steeped in boiling water for 2-4 minutes, no sugar.
Coffee can be a little strong too and I've moved away from espressos to instant coffees, where I can control the dosage.
Cultivate a life of happiness by making good choices and let your choices snowball. If your life is so good you will be happier than any substance could make you feel.
This is the only thing that has kept me sane the last year or so
