Can you give your honest opinion about my startup?


Hello,

My startup is a cryptocurrency trading application. Yeah, crypto again :). I was working on it for about a year and a half. At some point the application became too big for me to work on it alone and I didn't have funds to hire additional devs. I decided to suspend the development. Not sure what should I do with it now and if there is a sense to continue. Can you please give me your suggestions?

Your screenshots look like they were lifted directly from TradingView (and cointelegraph). My first hunch is that this is some kind of Trojan or virus. No thanks.

Take what you've learned there and move on.

For your next business project do customer development and product market research before working on any "MVP".

The question to ask is: does the world need another crypto trading application? If so, how is yours different from the other ones out there (aside from the potential to build a personal trading bot)?

If there's no compelling point of differentiation, and your user numbers aren't growing, then maybe it's time to move on. Apply what you've learned to another project.

I would only trust an application like this with "real" money if A) it was provided directly by my broker/dealer/exchange or B) it was open source. Since A is not an option I'd suggest open-sourcing the code.

A distant second problem is it should be cross-platform. That's just table stakes in this day and age.
