Are progressive web apps(PWA) as good as native apps now?

When Google pitched PWA, I being a web developer was quite excited. No need to build different apps for different platform, single app with all features of native app like Notification, works offline, installable etc

At present PWAs have most features which were planned. Still we don't see big names ditching native apps for PWAs. Companies which has good PWA(Twitter, Quora, Reddit) recommends user to switch to native app.

Which features are holding PWAs back from being as good as native apps?

On every platform except iOS they are. There, they're not because Apple wants to make sure it gets its 30% cut and total control over what you're allowed to do by forcing you into the App Store.

Given how many successful SaaS products are out there it seems like even non-PWA web apps are sufficient to cover a great many needs (a few examples: Google Docs, Figma, Elementor, Airtable, etc.).
