I like reading Show HN, it fairly has quite natural feedback. But not many Show HN got attention (comments). Whereas Launch HN, whenever I read, it strangely has many comments and positive. Some positive comments look suspicious to me, and I wonder if those are just claque. It's very consistent as I've observed for years.

(I didn't see this until now.) Launch HNs are a special process for YC startups and get an automatic placement on HN's front page. This is one of the things that HN gives back to YC in exchange for funding it. This is in the FAQ: https://news.ycombinator.com/newsfaq.html#yc.
