InFlight Atlas showing info on places you are flying over


Ask HN: Any solution exists where I can look out the window of a plane, and see offline wikipedia articles of the landmarks below me via AR. Having a stable GPS signal seems the hardest part during a journey. Looking down at amazing landscapes while crusing, it would be amazing to know what it is I am looking at.

I've wanted an audio-version of this for driving packaged for driving cross country.

With flying, the solution would need to account for which side of the plane you are on (and which direction).

On the other hand, at 30,000 feet, GPS accuracy isn't all that critical. A couple of kilometers one way or another won't make much difference regarding what you can see.

Not like the wing.
