Do You Yahoo?

I hadn't been using my old Yahoo! account much, but I recently started a trial subscription of Yahoo! Finance because I really like the tools and screeners they offer. At the same time, I'm noticing a few other things I like about Yahoo tools. Does anybody use Yahoo services? What do you like/dislike?

I find the Yahoo Finance News to be awful. So many ads are mixed in with news stories that vary from recent to days old, with no rhyme or reason as to the order. Marketwatch is better in this regard.

The specific financial information from /quote, etc. are quite good, but the news specific for an equity are filled with useless automated news from Zacks, Investor's Business Daily, and (sadly) Motley Fool (gone so downhill over the past 5 years).

I check the news and finance. Quite a few relatives use Yahoo! mail and fortunately its UI has been relatively static for the past half-decade [0] (although AOL mail takes the cake in the static -- and usable -- UI department [1])

I check the front page. I find the top banner interesting for quick news. The bottom stories are usually a waste so I skip them.

Last I heard the site is still a big money maker. There must be many people that use it.

Not any more. Many a year ago, I had a Yahoo! email account and used some of their tools like Briefcase, Notepad, and Calendar. Nowadays, I occasionally read a news article but only if it's linked from somewhere else.

I still like Yahoo Finance charts better than any other free stock charts. Appallingly the forums in Yahoo Finance are filled with oldsters who want the government to get out of their Medicare.

Only view Yahoo Finance occasionally and check my 10 year old ymail.com address.
