Did you notice a big productivity drop after having kids?
No - just the opposite it gave me purpose and reason to focus myself and my time. Instead of spending time at the office messing around or chatting - slam out features like my life and children's life depends on it. Realize I’m on a clock now - if I want to be able to be free to spend time with them tonight not only does this need to get done but it needs to be bug free.
Not really.
With kids, I spend all my nights and mornings with them. I do sneak in some work at 4 AM or so.
With just my wife and no kids, I spend all nights and mornings either dating her or playing games.
Being single, I'd spend all my free time on dating and arguing with strangers on forums.
It doesn't really change much. Arguably I get more work done with kids, because I need some escape from them.
Yes, and no. Kids can help be a great motivator as well and help you to be more focused when you need to be. And they are just a lot of fun (especially when they get a little older and start talking/running around).
Not in me but I noticed in colleagues who have kids. It's impossible to have virtual meeting with them since the kid keeps screaming the whole time and they have to keep attending to it. Honestly if you are in this situation please do everyone a favor and either find someone to take care of that kid while you work or go to office.
A sleep drop, not a productivity drop. That’s because I just did a lot of work in the middle of the night after they were born.
I started a business when I had two toddlers. I think it gave me a sense of purpose. The ideas and the entrepreneurial drive were present before having children, but I don't think I understood what my life path would be until they arrived.
No, but I did become against home schooling... haha.
Absolutely no. My wife was taking care of kids.
