Why not use AI to automatically adjust brightness and volume?

This would of course make use of the user's history of such adjustments in various contexts.

For example, this could automatically reduce brightness when viewing a web page or app that does not respect the user's dark mode setting.

As for sound, this could, for example, make speech be at the same volume regardless of whether it comes from a video, podcast, advertisement, speech synthesizer, etc.

Back when I used to listen to MP3s from my hard drive, I used ReplayGain[0] to normalize the loudness. It took a not-insignificant amount of time to run on my music library though, so I'm not sure how it would do in real time. I've always wished that YouTube and the like would do this.

For websites without a dark mode, I use Dark Reader[1]. It does a fairly good job on most sites. It even works on Google maps and PDFs!
