Where in the world would consider UK developers as offshore?
Is there anywhere in the world that does, or wouldd, offshore/nearshore development work to UK developers? Similar to how some UK business offshore and nearshore to central/Easten Europe and India etc. I suspect it would have to be regions that pay their developers substantially more than UK developers.
In the past, I recall a noticeable difference between uk and us developers, and I would think this has persisted (particularly vs. SV). If this is the case, it makes sense to look for lower cost areas in the uk (or Ireland?) that has sufficient worker and power density. The time zone difference isn’t horrible, nor is the language difference. Just not in the London or probably Oxbridge area. Similar uni and tech environment.
Although I wonder whether the uk would count of “hiring remote” rather than offshoring as the costs are way higher than the usual places.
Side note: My guess is that it's better to call it "consulting" instead of "offshoring".
The only place I can think of is USA.
