My website just disappeared from DNS. What can I do?


My website -- http://xordle.xyz -- has just disappeared from DNS. It's been working fine for months.

My registrar is Google Domains; there's no errors reported in the DNS settings or anywhere else. But Google's own DNS query at https://dns.google/query?name=xordle.xyz returns a status code 3 -- NXDOMAIN, or no such domain.

I tried transferring to a different registrar but it can't be transferred on account of it "not existing". I tried using Google Support; they weren't helpful in the slightest.

Do I have any options aside from just getting a new domain name if it doesn't resolve itself quickly?

Update: The TLD itself (gen.xyz) took it down; reported for abuse (showed up on some blacklist somewhere.)

I love xordle and found this page when I couldn't get to the site yesterday or today. Just wanted to say thank you for the time and money you've put into the site, and sorry the maintenance is such a pain.

Check that your Cloud DNS account is linked to a valid Billing Account with a valid Payment Method.

Double check the Registrar Setup (top-right) in your domain zone that you are pointing to the right set of google names servers.
