What item do you use for something other than its intended purpose?

Mostly thinking here of physical tools, but it could also be software etc..Example:I use a heat gun in my kitchen. I use it for roasting coffee beans. Also, it's great for quickly melting cheese on a sandwich (and probably more energy efficient than turning on the oven).

Igan wire cutter to cut my nails, the long precision tip allows removing skin and nails as no other tool.
40kV DC boost step up voltage generator and 1.5 inch neodynium magnets as desk toys.
Wanted to make a 3600K toy burner with tungsten filament but wife said no :(
