What consumer device do you wish existed?

With so many options on sensors, displays, compute, storage, sight, light, comms, materials, energy storage, generation, feedback systems, haptics, etc we are seeing a huge number of "wheels on suitcases" moment. Especially through kickstarter.

What are some consumer devices you wish existed?

This is something that already exists, but I'd like to see more OEM Linux Laptops that aren't dropshipping Chinese laptops to you. In all fairness, some of these Chinese laptops aren't half bad, but I'd much prefer to see the approach being taken by Framework propagate through the community. The Linux desktop stack feels as mature as it's going to get, now we just need good hardware offerings.

If we're really making pie-in-the-sky wishes, I'd love to see some well-made, upgradeable RISC-V laptops make it to mass-market. I really want to start porting things over in preparation for a new wave of RISC software, but the hardware options simply aren't there yet...

A home medical testing device that runs whatever labs your doctor orders, and tracks a sequence of the same lab at intervals (across days, weeks, months) rather than one-offs which can be terrible for medical decisionmaking. Keurig for health measurement.
