Are Twitter bots a real problem?
Musk not buying Twitter because of the apparent fake account ‘problem’ is absurd. Of course Twitter has fake accounts and automated bots that are hooked up to Twitter’s API and perform automated tweeting. You can even declare in Twitter’s settings that the account is automated and let followers know the account is automated.
Some amount of automation on Twitter is good. Troll farms spreading disinformation may be bad however, so I can see an issue with that, but come on, why did musk bail on the deal?
According to the letter, it was because Twitter was not forthcoming with the data that Musk wanted to quantify the number of actual twitter users. According to the media, it's just because Musk Bad.
Musk has been impulsive and not thinking straight, it wasn’t rational for him to start the process and his best bet is to pay any fees he owes Twitter and walk away.
If your business model is advertisers are paying to reach X amount of users, then yeah bots are a big fucking problem.
Out of question
