Tips on Degoogling? (June 2022)

Because of this thread [1], I feel warned (as in: final warning). I think it’s handy to get the best degooglers that HN has out there and nudge them into sharing with us what they know :)

Brave browser as a replacement for Chrome/Chromium is a good start. Startpage for Google-like results if you miss Google. Kagi Search if you want good results sans tracking that you pay for with you know, a thing called…money. GrapheneOS for a privacy-respecting phone sans Google bloat and tracking.

What products do you use? I use iOS, Duck Duck Go, Fastmail, Neovim + markdown + git for nearly all my docs, Brave and Firefox.

YouTube is the one Google product I haven’t been able to drop. Odysee isn’t there. As I write this, though, I realize that I mostly use YouTube as an inexpensive music service. I could easily switch to Spotify or something else, and probably will.
