Need marketing/sales advice for SaaS startup

I just started working at a B2B saas startup in Toronto as their Marketing Manager, but they also have me doing sales right now.

The problem is that getting the first sales seem to be a lot more difficult than anticipated.

Is there anyone that'd be willing to give me some input? We've gone the LinkedIn and cold email drip route, but I'm not sure if we're thinking about our initial methods correctly.

This is my first time doing marketing and sales for a startup (or any other company), so I'd be super appreciative of any advice someone has to offer.

That's a really vague question.

What's problem does it solves? have you talked to anyone to see if it even solves their problem?

why can't they use something that already exists? do the customers really care about that?

got on the phone or set up a meeting with some potential customers and dive into what they're pain points are.

Look into SPIN selling.
