Solve My 1 Problem

- I've got it all.

- I've got it going on.

- I am living the American Dream.

I only have 1 problem, and 1 problem only, I call it "failure to launch", and this is how it manifests:

- I am smart

- I've got mad skills

- I've got resources

But I get great actionable ideas, especially while I am taking a shower or in any other situation when it's impossible for me to take action. Then, later on, when i could do something, my insecurities/anxiety takes over, and I don't do anything.

I have read the War of Art, and I know it's Resistance. Still, I can't overcome it. I am seeking my own Obi-Wan Kenobi here on HN; you're my only hope!

TIA

I think the way to pull out of this (it happens to me now and then) is to let go of enough of the actionable idea to allow yourself to start without any expectations. You need to be able to fail. Otherwise, your mind focuses on the details that may drag you down, instead of getting going. If it's planning you need to do to combat the anxiety, do that. If it is taking the first simple step, do that. But whatever it is, get going, knowing that wasting time is something you'll truly regret.

For a start, at least write the ideas down, and keep them.

Sometimes a bunch of ideas together, re-read, makes for a better idea overall.
