What should America do with its nuclear waste?
I lived many years in Nevada and know that storage facilities (like Yucca mountain) are basically politically impossible in many areas because of local concerns. Are there any other methods that are effective and also politically possible?
Check out Onkalo - Finland's nuclear waste storage facility that's green, efficient and will bring them a lot of money when tech catches up and they will be able to re-use that waste to power new generation of reactors.
So my answer would be: import it making money now, store it safely and use later.
I thought the waste also can be used for heat? How about a steerling engine?
