Got an offer from Google but I already started a new job

G interview process was unexpectedly slow, I started interviewing with them in Oct last year. After figuring out they will take forever, i started interviewing at other companies and in JUNE, they have given me an offer but I'm already almost 6 months in at a new company. I want to leave for Google, however, it'd be mean throwing away my prorated sign on bonus and also undo vested stocks. More than 100k+ loss.

Is there a way to tell G I accept the offer but I will start next year 2nd quarter.

Because that is unreasonable way of doing things

The other comments offer good advice but as a counter-point I would encourage you to consider, whats the delta between your current employer and Google (maybe it's a great company and there isn't much difference). Whats the value add of 6 more months of Google? How much faster do you get your next promotion at Google if you start now, how much is that promotion worth?

$100k seems like a lot, and it is in real terms. I find that people can some times get tripped up by the total amounts though. In my experience it's usually (but not always) better to keep momentum and go to the better company sooner.

So, situations can vary but hiring committee results are valid for a year. The wildcard is how lazy or vindictive your recruiter is.

It might actually be worth explaining the situation, and asking to start team match after the new year. I don’t know their policy, but they might be willing to compensate you with a higher on hire bonus to get you to quit.

It is common for the second company to pay off the first hiring bonus and accelerate your stock grant. Basically make good on everything and give u a lateral move plus you should get a pay bump.
