Azure payment issues with EU credit cards?

My employer is facing a really strange issue where we can't pay open invoices issued by Azure for our subscriptions using credit cards issues in the EU. Is anyone else facing such issues? Their customer support indicated that this might be an issue on their side but I haven't received any updates for several days now and I fear they'll start to disable subscriptions soon.
