How Can I Spot Unsafe Chrome Extensions?

Reading Spatie's internal security guidelines, I came across a recommendation to "not use any browser extensions that can track typed keys, passwords or browser history," and I'm wondering whether there's a known workflow to report potential security risks originated by installed Chrome extensions.

If security guidelines say that you'd be more secure without an ad blocker than with one, then you should probably find a new set of guidelines to follow.

I kinda avoid extensions (except for a good ad blocker) because they cause bugs, slowdowns and other trouble.

Reminds me of the early 00’s when every baby boomer had 80% of the screen area taken up by the Bonzi Buddy and the Yahoo Toolbar and 15 other toolbars…. Don’t be that guy.
