Is your company ordering a hiring freeze?

Recently heard the news about Meta/FB ordering a hiring freeze. I guess they are preparing for slowdown in next few years or might have just hit their hiring quota. Hearing a lot of startups have started layoffs as well. Are there similar talks going on in your company as well?

Oh FB/Meta wont leave an opportunity to make you feel FOMO.

They sent me an email "We are not hiring anymore for your position" couple of weeks ago.

I never ever applied to FB/Meta for any position.

UK based, and actually the opposite, company wants to hire more developers and I think QA too.

Yes. The Swedish company I work for announced a hiring freeze 3 weeks ago and at the same time also announced they would not keep contractors any longer. I've also seen efforts to try to consolidate costs with software licenses, etc… I'm not worried but maybe I should.

Some departments in the company I work for have frozen hiring but not because of a expected slowdown.

They were hiring on some teams too fast and couldn’t keep up with onboarding.

Nope they are hiring more, I'm working at an enterprise-level Saas so not sure how representative but it seems if your company has revenue and needs to grow, it's still hiring.

Also I still get plenty of LinkedIn messages from recruiters all the time from all kinds of companies from small to unicorns to big tech.

Not a hiring freeze per say, but the hiring plans are reduced for the rest of the year due to high inflation and more conservative customer spending. Contractors and non-key consultants are not getting their contracts renewed either.
