Will Apple ever buy Netflix?

It seems like the industry is ripe for consolidation and Apple obviously needs to increase its library while at the same time it seems like Netflix is going to be struggling against emerging competitors like Disney, Paramount, etc. for at least a few years. Plus Apple has a ton of cash on hand that they don't seem to be leveraging so 'buying the dip' right now might be a worthwhile strategy.

Unfortunately, for Netflix, in its rush to get content the company approved a lot of average quality stuff. Stuff that has little longer term attraction. So the attraction to its library is minimal. Apple would be attracted to the users but now Netflix's price is very rich so its purchase is not attractive at this time. A few years from now the company will start to trade on earning rather than growth. That's when Apple will want to buy it. But at that point multiple companies will want the subscribers so others will go after it too. My guess is that Netflix would not be the first choice for Apple. They would try to buy quality content first but apple is still figuring out the business so if anything happens it will be years from now. My guess is that Netflix will end up being part of Discover. They have started to agregarte content and Netflix is a good fit.
