How To Avoid Infringing Software Patents?

I try to build a non-profit dating platform and while researching different approaches to matching, I discovered that matching is indeed patented by the parent company of Tinder.

How can I, as a single developer, with no money avoid to get sued by a patent holder?

I think there is a good chance that my project is infringing multiple software patents just because there is no other way to do something, or it is just reasonable to do it this way. So another question would be how to find patents, since one have to know about a patent to avoid it, right?

Maybe I will just block US IPs and US phone numbers from registering, so I can't be sued for US patents.

Don't become famous and don't make any money. That way they won't waste their time going after you.

Otherwise be brave, expose them as trolls in social media if they ever sue you. Make lots of money, pay researchers/lawyers, patent your own variation of the invention, sell it to a bigger patent troll.

How do you know whether they patented it to defend themselves from trolls but are friendly to other developers, or they are patent trolls, or will ask for a small fee, or will sue you in the future?
