Extreme MacBook Shipping Delays?

Question

Hey HN - Is anyone else experiencing extremely long shipping delays for Macbooks? I ordered a 14-inch MBP* in March, and Apple&rsquo;s showing that it&rsquo;s estimated to arrive June 6-21 (!!). Are others experiencing similar? Should I contact someone about this?(Apple M1 Max with 10-core CPU, 24-core GPU, 16-core; 32GB memory, 2TB SSD)

I commented the other day, but wanted to add I just noticed that an SSD Kit for a 2019 Mac Pro that I ordered and was supposed to be delivered this week was also pushed back to June. It makes me think everything shipping from China was drastically held up with recent Closures / shipping issues.

Got to be because of the lockdown in China which probably makes it difficult to either to build the device or to get it transported

there is an ongoing global component shortage that affects all manufacturers. not sure if it was artificially created or if the shortage is real. i heard it had to do with the automotive industry changing their forecasts. but i find that hard to believe as many components have automotive variants.
