Is Safari a good option for a privacy focused browser?

Typically when seeing recommendations for browsers that respect privacy I see recommendations for brave or firefox or the like. I’m not sure why I don’t see safari recommended. I like their private relay option, i use the adguard extension for adblocking and have cross site tracking turned off. Am I missing a reason of why not to use safari if you mostly use apple devices?

just that the common base is something chromium-ish/Blink-ish like.

I understand that Blink was forked from WebKit, but before that fork how much of google went into webkit? More problematic: what from google went into webkit?

i believe the community's problem with it is just that and not much what apple does with it.

The code is open and blablabla but.. does any one actually audit that huge code???

I believe that's why everyone just point Firefox as the only privacy choice (even with all it's problems).

But, then again... this is what i think personally. Someone else more techie could help more with this answer (you're just going to find out how hard it is to know who to trust ;P)
