What are some worthy high-level goals for humankind?

Establish a legal system that is non discriminatory wrt colour, gender, religion or lack thereof, …. Humankind is totally unable to construct this system, being willingly trapped in the tribal system. Given that the lizard brain rules, altruistic things like space travel will merely be pipe dreams.

Edit: I’m on a bender. If you move to places that favour sharia law, such as Texas or other red states, you’re complicit. If you want money and guns and low taxes that much, I hope you don’t have daughters. And you better be melanin challenged.

A society in which one has the total freedom and all resources to study and promote science, that is to seek the understanding of the whole universe and maybe even beyond.

Businesses should only be of 3 kinds:

1. Those that donate part of their profits to charities working towards the UN SDGs

2. Those that make money while moving the world towards the SDGs

3. Those who collect donations to move the world towards the SDGs

We collaborate through entities called companies or organizations and it’s important that every time we collaborate there is a positive externality.

Now the specifics of the goals can be debated and edited with time.

Get humans to a different star system. Alpha Centauri is the closest.

This goal would be so ambitious and multigenerational that it would be like our version of building the pyramids. It could only be accomplished with the kind of long term thinking normally reserved for world religions and science fiction.

It's hard to imagine what secrets of nature we might uncover in the process of attempting it.

Fly or die: we must escape the next large asteroid impact.

Disable war motivators: break large countries into smaller ones so they can't build larger armies, balance access to resources.

Stop credit neo-slavery: the work of most, translated into salary, is owned by a few thru debt.

Non-sapiens evolution avoidance: humans will lose intelligence in the same way we gained it.

Solve trash and pollution.

Food security, mental health, real freedom, maintaining diversity of societies, ending economic immigration, open borders, stronger family bonds, children interacting with peers and extended family more.

Also whatever improve our satisfaction with life.

Decarbonizing the atmosphere and our energy use. I don't think people truly understand the impact of climate change on society and peace between nations.

There is only one worthy goal: to identify and correct errors which are inevitable in any goal/solution.
