What kind of legacy you would like to leave in life?
Let’s begin with a simple example: how are you?
You know if you tell the truth you will be harassed and your privacy invaded by someone who “cares” where only time and reliance upon self will pull you through.
Let’s get more technical, what are you up to? Need “help”? Do you like [labor intensive product which is now beyond improvement] I prepared for you?
Now I’m an honest person mind you, and I don’t actually habitually lie, so I know this whole “how are you” is really tricky business. I’ve loved a few liars and I find there is a different between not speaking truthfully and not having integrity (behaving falsely.)
Social lying is a laxative.
Lying about something for which others don’t actually have a right to hear is a right (personal details)
Lying is defiantly wrong is when it is a “false account, accusation, or condemnation.”
Other times it is apparently a survival strategy necessary in smoothing relationships without implicating or obligating, a deflection or deferral.
It is apparently easier to be forgiven for a lie than the scorn of truth.
All this said, the nature and consequences of a “lie” must really be considered as to whether your comprehension is impaired or the lack of truth is a danger to yours.
And do remember that humans are self deceivers!
As for legacy, to not be a waste of humanity!
