Who is looking for help on a project?

Question

I have been a software developer for 4 years now, but I realize more and more every day that I lack some skills one can only learn from beings a part of a team of engineers (I&rsquo;m a solo developer on my team).I&rsquo;ve tried going the route of finding open source projects , but those seem difficult to get into (although I would still consider being involved as long as I get experience).I&rsquo;ve been on a few interviews but was told &ldquo;you lack the needed experience&rdquo;. This scares me after working for 4 years because it seems like I&rsquo;m not getting the right exposure.Getting to the point. I want more experience. I would love to contribute to any project.

Google Summer of Code perhaps? You have to apply but it's not limited to students, just FOSS beginners, and with 4 years of experience you could probably talk the talk and walk the walk well enough to get in.

I've got a lot of good first projects for github.com/multiprocessio/datastation and github.com/multiprocessio/dsq. If you have any experience in Go it will be easy to get you up and running. I've already had a few students and self-learners start contributing.Join #dev on discord.multiprocess.io and say hi and I'll show you some of the stuff you can help with.
