How can mobile app developers take credit for their work?

I've spent the past year building a (complex) mobile app for a client and we've released it to Play Store. Currently, none of my branding is on the app. When people find the app, there is no connection to me, the Developer of the app.

As a freelancer, I want to be able to put this app in my portfolio to attract future prospects.

How do app developers usually take credit for their work? Websites usually credit the creator at the footnote at the bottom, but I don't see any such etiquette in mobile apps.

Is there an obvious/subtle solution?

Is it not enough to do just as you said - putting the app in your portfolio (e.g. personal website) such that future prospects can see the work you've done there? Or do you feel that isn't sufficient 'proof' that you worked on it?

I’d just add it to your portfolio.

Or are you wanting people to discover you from within the app itself? If there’s an about page or credits screen somewhere you could ask the client if they’d be happy for you to add a line.

As someone who gets apps but for them I often want a dev to put themselves in the credits on the about oage wherever but I'm a hippie and most devs are like what?

I want to encourage a partnership mentality
