What's the significance that Senators used Zoom and not an American tech
I've been reading the last 2 years that Zoom is not secure, etc.
Yet the Senators and Zelensky used Zoom (a Chinese technology) to confer.
What's the significance that they didn't use an American tech instead?

Zoom is an American company, with HQ in San Jose, California. Its stock trades on Nasdaq, an American stock exchange. Eric Yuan, the founder of Zoom, is an American citizen. They did (do?) have a development office in China, just like many other American companies. They have offices in many other countries as well, as shown on the map in this link (scroll down to "Zoom Spans the Globe" section):
What American technology would you have them use instead? Something that would already be installed on both ends? Something that would be trivially simple to use? Something that wouldn't run afoul of Internet monitoring technology that's being used by secretive spy organizations?
