Request for interviewee to discuss Apache Kafka

Hi HN,

Not expecting this to get to the front page! But hoping for one or two responses.

I am a junior software engineer and work at a company that uses Apache Kafka. I also have a side project which is a website for ongoing text-based interviews called Taaalk (https://taaalk.co). I am looking to interview someone about Kafka, starting with the basics and getting increasingly complex (eventually with some code examples).

[To get a better understanding of a format, here is an example of a Taaalk: https://www.taaalk.co/t/repopulating-the-taaalk-database-from-archive-org. It is a quite meta, as it is myself and another software engineer discussing how to repopulate the Taaalk database from an archive.org download after a server incident which wiped my database. However, it should give you an idea of the format.]

If you are interested in "Taaalking" with me about Kafka, please get in touch via the email on my profile.

Thank you!

Heya, I had a friend who wanted to do something similar and asked for advice.

I suggested paying a consultant their hourly rate. So if I were you, I'd reach out to kafka experts and see if you can buy 1-3 hours of their time.

Here are some kafka experts I know:

Rich at Quicloud has taught classes for Confluent: http://quicloud.com/contact

Jason has given Kafka talks and is active in the community: https://twitter.com/jasonbelldata

Best of luck!

Update:

I have found someone to Taaalk with! A senior software developer for Red Hat who works on Kafka related products reached out. The Taaalk is happening here:

It's possible to "follow" it (receive emails every time a new reply is added) if you are interested in staying updated with the conversation.
