Are there efforts to preserve Wikipedia's content for thousands of years

I have a copy of the 11th edition of Encyclopedia Britannica (the 'seed' for original Wikipedia), but it takes serious maintenance (dusting plus periodic oiling of the leather covers/spines). Definitely not the best way to make it thousands of years.

It's also public domain, so you can just download it (for a more compact approximation of Wikipedia that's not quite current, less exhaustive, but way better for reading.)

I dropped a copy on a thumb drive and epoxied it into a piece of furniture. A floor mosaic would have been a better choice, but it’s the project I had going. I should probably have included a Rosetta Stone of how to bootstrap usb and how filesystems work. I bet the long now foundation probably has a better plan.

I imagine some billionaire creating several underground locations around the world and storing in them a version of wikipedia embossed onto metal plates.

Or something like that.

A good sci fi story - fun to think about people 10,000 years in the future seeking such a thing,
