What Browser Extensions are you using?

We all use Ad Blockers, but there are so many other great extensions out there.

Video Speed Controller - great for skimming stuff fast.

LastPass - Everyone needs a password manager

ScreenBud - quick and easy page capture/edit

BrainTool - Bookmark manager with notes, search, keyboard controls and plain text data access. Its mine, give it a shot and LMK what you think:

Of those not mentioned elsewhere and most interesting/useful:

Tree Style Tabs - second thing I install after Ublock origin
SponsorBlock For Youtube - to help avoid even more ads when I've already paid youtube to avoid ads..
Bye Rupert - to help avoid trashy biased news sources owned by Rupert Murdoch
Still use Firefox.

I’m using this Chrome extension for formatting inline code in Google Docs: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/backtick/gfollmknb...

Ad blocker, password manager, I don't care about cookies, Reddit Enhancement Suite, Dark Reader (only for HN).

AdBlock Origin Multi Account Container Redirector (just to open a few bookmarks in a specific container, could get rid of this if\when the containter add-on has this feature built-in) Bitwarden Raindrop.io

I disable all browser extensions- I don’t trust them… I figure it’s more likely for the browser extension to be compromised then the browser itself or the few sites I visit …

Stylus: https://add0n.com/stylus.html

I need to fix many sites...

HN Enhance, providing dark mode. Forget Me Knot, forgets cookies & other data. DecentralEyes, Anti-tracker centralizes content delivery.

I cycle between having too many and going minimalist.

Cookie Autodelete, Privacy Badger, HTTPS Everywhere are some of the usual suspects.

👤 camgunz
Dark Reader, Decentraleyes, Firefox Multi-Account Containers, Old Reddit Redirect, uBlock Origin. Nothing too bonkers.

👤 mderazon
Bitwarden, Sideberry (tree tabs), Markdown here (for MD in Gmail)

👤 ewagsjr
1password, Grammarly, Redux DevTools, uBlock Origin

👤 i_have_an_idea
uBlock Origin, RES, Clear URLs, Edit This Cookie (for work), I don't care about cookies (I live in the EU), LastPass (for work)

Absolute Enable Right Click and Copy - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/absolute-enab... - Gets me through a lot of terrible javascript on sites. Toggleable by site. Also occasionally breaks sites (my own included lol) when I forget it's on.

Auto Mute - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/auto-mute/ - Mutes new tabs by default, independently configurable for general and private browsing.

Video DownloadHelper - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/video-downloa... - Self explanatory name. Let's me download videos from sites. Pretty good, lets you grab reddit videos, youtube videos, although it can't get videos from Twitter the last time I checked (which was awhile ago so maybe that's changed).

Expire History By Days - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/expire-histor... - Expires history by days. I have it set to 14 days. Good for my own sanity.

uBlackList - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ublacklist/ - Blocks sites from Google search. I have this installed solely to block Pinterest results from Google Image Search with the regex /pinterest\..*/

uBlock Origin - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ublock-origin... - Everyone here knows what this is. I use it to block all sorts of annoyances besides ads, including those mouseover things on Wikipedia and all the junk that appears in front of Youtube videos.

Close Other Tabs, Close Tabs to the Right, Close Tabs to the Left - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/user/12047556/ - I use custom CSS to block Firefox's close tabs submenu and instead use these three extensions so I have all the close tab options on the top level menu.

Color Blind Map Fixer - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/color-blind-m... - My own half finished extension to make charts readable to the color blind, used by a whopping three other people. I'm not color blind but I have it installed anyway in case I need to fix a map that a color blind friend or acquaintance can't read.
