Is surviving nuclear war via Starship bomb shelters in space feasible?
And if so, wouldn't this be better than colonizing Mars to ensure the survival of the human race in the near future?
A nuclear war is going to eliminate lots of categories of goods: pharmaceuticals and electronics come to mind as instantly unavailable to survivors. Lots of categories like eyeglasses/contact lenses, cleaning supplies, bicycles, automobiles will become unavailable over a longer, but still rapid time frame.
You might be able to survive past the first few weeks in space, but then be unable to survive the shortages on the ground.
What time frame are you thinking? Might as well be planning self-sustaining orbital colonies; and afaik there's not realistic "sealed biosphere" possibilities yet, you'd need fairly large inputs of stuff thats only available on earth still.
