This is maybe less helpful but, I've searched the internet for many things and discovered many treasures but in the end looking back... the largest treasures I've found have been from experimenting on my own hunch or curiosity.
You have an idea of what you want to build, just build it. Build a motor, build a box, put it in the box, see what happens, rinse repeat.
