Founder Visas for Australia

I just met my local federal member for a chat today. He was very interested in hearing about the experiences of founders and remote workers, and what needs to be done to help the local startup ecosystem. As the chair of the standing committee on migration, I think he would be looking for some quick wins before the election for his party (he's in a safe seat).

So in the light of http://www.paulgraham.com/foundervisa.html what should we as a startup community be asking for?

What new visas should be created? What should the criteria be for them?

(If you aren't in Australia, what would help you want to come to Australia to build your startup here?)

I don't know about founders specifically, but I do know that Australia already has one of the easiest paths to migration for skilled workers, at least for non-American, non-EU citizens like myself. I found the immigration process into Australia to be relatively pain-free.

Something I would like to see is an easier path for non-skilled immigrants. Note that "non-skilled" here doesn't mean unskilled, it just means "lacks paper qualifications"

Fellow Australian and startup founder here, a passion project of mine is https://startupgalaxy.com.au - mix of jobs and startup directory details.

We've had a few people watch our job boards from overseas for the purpose of moving to Australia, I wonder if we can surface Visa sponsorship information to help people spot jobs open to this more easily.
