What is up with all the Wordle posts?

It's like multiple times every day someone has some Wordle post or implementation. Why are they all making it to the top of the front page? To me it looks so much like spam posting and getting very annoying, what are your thoughts? Anything I'm missing?

difficulty - not too much
interaction - uncomplicated, minimalist
design - pleasing without being distracting
advertising - none
social - shareable triumphs
technical - minimal network
burden - only one per day
peril - none
progress - private
A template for a success which is not obviously revenue generating

You are not missing anything. The copy-cats are typical spam and is not anything newsworthy, just like the Flappy Bird and the 2048 clone spam several years ago.Just ignore it. The Wordle hypesquad clones will die out soon and find something else to be addicted to.
