I personally wouldn't, I like/prefer the self contained nature of HN and, despite its popularity, generally don't appreciate Discord as a discussion medium.

PS: Just in case that's too much of a hidden feature, https://news.ycombinator.com/newpoll exists. Might be better suited for questions like this.

I'm going to go against the grain and say I would (excluding my inability to reply to real time messages bc I'm in a funk). HN is kind of hard to engage with, considering the website is web1.0 2007 standards. The UX is weak, I'd like it if the links would open to a new tab by default without me needing an extension. Also I know this is a spicy take, but I want a notifications screen. I'll be fine if I don't get push notifications, but I'd like to be told about replies to my comments. It would be cool to have a dashboard like github's where I can get a break down of all the engagement I've been receiving.

Discord is abit much, I think we just need afew new QOL features.

Maybe, though it would quickly transform into something other than being HN-focused since it would be hard to keep conversations in a chat room revolving around a wide variety of news stories. Not that that would be a bad thing, but it might be better to create a server around technology that's aimed at the interests of HN and let the users drive it from there.

HN is like the morning newspaper to me. I come to work, get my first coffee brewing, skim the headlines, read an article or two and engage in the comments. If a call comes in, I just stop reading/writing, and if the article was interesting enough, I may pick up later.

Voice Chat means immediate and constant attention required. That's not appealing to me.
